STAR Monthly Zoom in November
The holiday season can be difficult for children and families involved in the child welfare system; advocating for sibling contact and connection is important to help those children who are feeling especially lonely during this time of year.
Please join us on November 17 from 12:00-1:00 p.m. for our discussion on Preserving Sibling Connections. We will have SMU Law Professor Diane Sumoski join us to talk about the legal rights of children in foster care regarding access to their siblings, as well as ways to advocate for and support sibling relationships for the children you serve. We will also have the opportunity to hear from local CASA program staff with lived experience who will share their experience with sibling group adoption and some practical best practices for advocating for sibling groups.
If you are not registered for the STAR Monthly Zoom Series, please REGISTER HERE.
Please note our November STAR Zoom will be on the 3rd Monday instead of the 4th due to the Thanksgiving Holiday week.
Please contact Lisa Briggs at lbriggs@texascasa.org if you have any questions.
