CASA Story Program Portal Resources + Upcoming Trainings

Introduced last month, the CASA Story is our strategy for a successful 90th Legislative Session in 2027 – using one unified, compelling story to align our local and state advocacy efforts. Together, we’ll educate our legislators about the realities of the changing child welfare system and, most importantly, the critical, stabilizing role that CASA plays – all through storytelling anchored in local program impact.

Online Role-Playing Office Hours:
This one-hour session gives participants a chance to have a practice meeting with a legislator where you’ll talk through the CASA Story. We’ll use breakout rooms in Zoom to work in small groups. Anyone is welcome to join.

Meetings with Legislators:
Our Public Policy Team – Ana O’Quin, Public Policy Director, and Stephanie Battaglia, Public Policy Specialist, are working on our proposed meeting strategy for each program in alignment with their region and legislators. Spring meetings with legislators will focus on education and relationship building. Fall meetings will focus on public policy priorities and start laying the groundwork for funding asks. If you have a preference for spring vs. fall based on meeting topic, please let us know at publicpolicy@texascasa.org. More to come later this month on this!

Share Your Story:
Our Communications team would love to highlight your stories of impact throughout the CASA Story campaign. You can send us the completed story or simply share the idea with us, and we’ll take it from there. Please email communications@texascasa.org. Here are the types of stories we’re hoping to feature.

  • How CASA volunteers change lives
  • Your experience with the rollout of CBC
  • Your experience seeing and managing more severe cases

Thank you for everything you do to support the volunteers and children you serve. You are changing lives every day. Wishing you a wonderful month ahead!
