CASA Story Resources for National Foster Care Month and Legislative Update

The CASA Story is our strategy to align local and state advocacy efforts in preparation for the 90th Legislative Session. Using one unified voice, we’ll educate our legislators about the realities of the changing child welfare system and, most importantly, the critical, stabilizing role that CASA plays – all through stories of your local impact.

New Resources

You’ll find May social media posts (4) and a media alert on the CASA Story Program Portal. The media alert is centered on National Foster Care Month.

Meetings with Legislators

We’re wrapping up the proposed meeting strategy for each program in alignment with their region and legislators. As a reminder, spring meetings will focus on education and relationship building. Fall meetings will focus on public policy priorities and start to lay the groundwork for funding asks. If you have a preference for spring vs. fall based on meeting topic, or important context about meetings you’ve already had with legislators, please let us know at publicpolicy@texascasa.org. More to come later this May!
