Meetings with Legislators
We recently shared the CASA Story Program Strategy Legislative Matrix with local program EDs, which includes our recommendations for spring/summer outreach by program and information about legislators for each program/service area and legislators shared by CASA programs. Please reach out to publicpolicy@texascasa.org if you would like access to the matrix or with any questions.
As you meet and engage with legislators, please be sure to complete the Legislative Visit Feedback Form. This helps our team track outreach efforts, identify follow-up opportunities, and better coordinate statewide advocacy strategy.
Upcoming Events
Join us September 9–11 in San Marcos at the 2026 Texas CASA Conference: Advocacy in Motion: Moving with Purpose and Heart, where Public Policy Director Ana O’Quin and Public Policy Specialist AD Tincopa will lead an institute designed for local CASA staff and leaders who want to strengthen their legislative advocacy efforts and prepare for the 90th Legislative Session.
Building on the CASA Story framework, the Public Policy team will share Texas CASA’s legislative priorities, developed with input from local CASA programs across the state, along with updates on key interim charges and the Sunset Review process. Through engaging conversation, peer learning, and small-group discussion, participants will gain practical strategies for turning policy priorities into action and effectively engaging with legislators on behalf of children and families.
Whether you are new to legislative advocacy or looking to expand your impact, this session will help you build the knowledge, confidence, and connections needed to amplify the voices of children in the legislative process.
