Texas CASA staff recently gathered for an overnight retreat at Lucky Arrow Retreat in Dripping Springs, Texas, for an opportunity to step away from their daily routines, strengthen connections and reflect on the organization’s shared mission and values.

The retreat focused on fostering a healthy, collaborative workplace culture and exploring how staff can continue growing together as an organization. A special highlight was the opportunity to learn from Pam Benson Owens, who has been working closely with Texas CASA’s team leads and directors to strengthen organizational culture. During the retreat, she led engaging sessions that encouraged staff to reflect on who we want to be as an organization, how we work together and the values that guide our efforts to support the CASA network.

Beyond these meaningful discussions, staff enjoyed opportunities to connect outside the office through team-building activities, including axe throwing, campfire s’mores and shared meals. These moments offered a chance to build relationships across departments, celebrate the team’s hard work and enjoy time together in a relaxed setting.

“I loved spending one-on-one time with my coworkers and learning more about their journeys and specific roles at Texas CASA. I feel even more connected to our team and our mission! Building those connections helps us work better together to support our network.”

– AD Tincopa, Public Policy Specialist at Texas CASA

The retreat served as an important reminder that a strong organization starts with a connected and supported team. By investing in our staff, strengthening relationships and fostering a positive workplace culture, Texas CASA is better positioned to support local CASA programs, volunteers and the children and families they serve.

We look forward to carrying the connections, insights and renewed sense of purpose from the retreat into our work ahead!
