Staff Spotlight: Lindsey Lee, Campaign Marketing & Media Manager

Lindsey is a Midwesterner who, like many people, traded snow for the Texas sunshine 15 years ago. While trudging to class in snowstorms, she earned her bachelor’s degree in advertising from Iowa State University and has built a career in marketing focused on supporting and uplifting underserved communities. Outside of work, you’ll usually find her outdoors running, hiking, cycling or kayaking. She also loves to travel and explore the local food scene.
Tell us about yourself and what drew you to working in the child welfare space.
I have spent my professional career working in the nonprofit sector. In my previous roles, I’ve been able to use my marketing and communication skills to help grow organizations and connect communities to valuable resources, which are things I hope I bring to CASA. Beyond my professional work, I have volunteered throughout my life with various organizations, which has allowed me to more fully understand the needs of many vulnerable populations and the importance for advocacy on every level.
How long have you worked for Texas CASA, and how did you get involved with the CASA mission?
I’ve been with Texas CASA for 9.5 years, celebrating 10 years this September! I was first introduced to CASA through a former Texas CASA employee, and I was immediately struck by the passion, compassion and expertise that every staff member brings to the work. While I didn’t know much about CASA or the child welfare space when I first stepped into my role, it didn’t take long for me to develop a wholehearted commitment to advocating for children and supporting the volunteers and programs that work directly with the families CASA serves.
Tell us about your work in the Strategic Network Support team and your role as Campaign Marketing & Media Manager.
In my role at Texas CASA, I have the opportunity to bring together many of the things I’m most passionate about — serving others, sharing a mission I deeply believe in, inspiring people to get involved, planning meaningful events and supporting colleagues in their work. To relate it to my role directly, I collaborate closely with our advertising agency to develop and execute a statewide awareness campaign, create recruitment resources for local CASA programs, and help plan and implement Texas CASA events.
How does your personal experience impact your work at Texas CASA?
Throughout my professional career and through the many volunteer organizations I’ve been involved with over the years, I’ve witnessed firsthand the profound impact people can have on the lives of others. Those experiences have reinforced my belief that empathy, truly stepping outside of your own perspective to understand and support someone else, is more important than ever. I strive to embody that mindset every day, bringing compassion, humility and a genuine desire to serve in both my professional work and my personal life.
What is your favorite part about your job?
It may sound cliché, but it truly is the people — the entire CASA network. I have never encountered a more compassionate, dedicated and knowledgeable group of individuals, all united by a shared commitment to making the world a better place. Secondly, I’m grateful for the opportunity to support those who work directly with families and volunteers, the true heart of the CASA mission. I’m always looking for ways to make their roles more efficient, effective and impactful. When they are set up for success, I consider that a success for me as well.
