Strengths-Based Supervision Resources

Two resources we recently highlighted in the Supervisor Strengths-Based Supervision training are the “Who Does What?” guide and the Powerful Coaching Questions resource.

The “Who Does What?” checklist helps supervisors and advocates reflect on how responsibilities are shared within the supervisor-advocate partnership. There are no “right” answers, just opportunities to better understand how to balance support based on the needs of each advocate and team. For newer advocates, supervisors may take a more active role at first, often beginning with an 80/20 support balance that gradually shifts as advocates grow in confidence and experience. ACCESS THE CHECKLIST HERE.

The Powerful Coaching Questions resource is designed to help supervisors make the most of their time with advocates by encouraging reflection, critical thinking, and deeper case understanding. Using coaching questions can help advocates build ownership and problem-solving skills while supporting supervisors in moving away from being the “advice monster” and toward a more collaborative, strengths-based approach.
