Texas CASA is grateful to Child Advocates of Fort Bend (CAFB) and The Meadows Foundation, for the opportunity to partner in the last fiscal year to develop CAFB’s infant and toddler resources
and make them available to the larger CASA network. We wanted to share again about those resources now available to your program:

Within these resources, there is so much information for your program, that you can use as much or as little as you feel will benefit your program best. There is:

  • Information to share with judges and attorneys regarding the importance of visits, the importance of trauma-informed courts and the critical role of parents for children in this age group.
  • Training available for volunteers regarding best practices of working with parents of infants and young children.
  • Resources on young children’s developmental stages

A special note about the Connection/Visitation Toolkits: these can be used in many different ways, and we encourage you to first read through the volunteer guidebook, the program guide, and the toolkit brochure. The toolkits are intended to be used as part of a positive visitation practice, if applicable. They are a resource for a parent to use in their visit with their child, to help support attachment, bonding, child development, and parental skill and confidence. They may also be used by the CASA volunteer when they are visiting the children.

CASA programs are encouraged and welcome to share all of these resources with their child protective partner as appropriate, the more we can work together to have a big impact for these littlest people, the better.

Please feel free to reach out with any questions or share any success stories with the CFE Team at cfeteam@texascasa.org.
